Contribute for the Cause
It is only through our combined efforts that we can Clean Delhi. If not for our own sake but for the well-being of our nation, our children, our future generations of Dilli ……..lets move together!!
 
 
We thank you for your support to the highly successful initiative – Meri Dilli Meri Yamuna – a project for making a difference to our city, Delhi–NCR. A full blown Citizens’ Action Plan with all round participation and support from large corporates, NGOs, RWAs, educational institutions, and other sections of society besides full fledged participation from Governments and multilateral bodies including UNESCO.
We covered 17 sites in Delhi NCR where over 8000 Art of Living volunteers spoke to over 100000 people on the streets of Delhi encouraging in them a spirit of celebrating responsibilities and making them aware of the merits of a clean Delhi NCR. As a team we removed over 35 Full Truck loads of garbage from these 17 locations. We're truly contributing in making Delhi ready to welcome the world We received an overwhelming support from MCD, Market Associations and Residence Welfare Associations (RWA).

The initiative has already achieved the following milestones on way to making a difference to Delhi-NCR

    1. Launch of Meri Dilli Meri Yamuna by on 16th March 2010 in the presence of Government and all other stakeholders with tens of thousands of citizens;
    2. Yamuna Ghats Cleaning Drive – from 17th to 24th March – wherein over 20000 people from partner organizations and citizens joined hands to clean 8 Ghats of Yamuna. On 13th May, 2010 we did follow up cleaning activities are various Ghats.
    3. Art Competition ‘Mere Sapno Ki Dilli’ – on 22nd April – wherein a world record 6 lacs children from various Government / private schools of Delhi – NCR participated and pledged their support to clean Delhi-NCR;

As a next steps and to make a difference to our City, we urge you to affirm your support and participation in this mega initiative to spread awareness about keeping the city clean. The Project will lead into a week-long drive – from 6th to 12th September – wherein hundreds of thousands of citizens of Delhi/NCR will participate in spreading awareness and cleaning the city. The event named as - Clean Delhi-NCR Drive (CDD) – will go a along way in creating awareness amongst the citizens and other stakeholders towards keeping Delhi/NCR clean.

About 200 participated in CDD Dwarka @sec-6 & 10 market. No strategic cleaning point as market. Sec 6 market association supported- sponsored 200 mask 200 pairs gloves etc. MCD supported - person with 10-15 workers present throughout the drive. Dwarka police given support & visited site. After cleaning, awareness for keeping own garbage bin was spread to many shops.

East delhi IP ext. witnessed a transformation at madhu vihar with around 350 volunteers equipped with grit and determination to bring abt the change. They did it .madhu vihar market became unrecognizable when no garbage was left on street .1 truck load garbage was sent to its grave. Jai ho CDD Ki! Sent from BlackBerryR on Airtel
